Jim Hartley, CPA

Jim grew up on the Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce, Florida. He began his academic career in Sterling, Kansas, at Sterling College. On top of earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration, Jim also played football in college, serving as the Warriors' nose guard for 4 years. When he wasn't immersed in the classroom or on the football field, Jim helped his peers by tutoring them in accounting and statistics.

Before joining DMHB, Jim worked for 5 years with a local accounting firm where he focused on providing service in tax and audits. His current concentration lies in internal control consulting, as well as management documentation testing. He has extensive experience in tax planning for both individuals and businesses, and brings that knowledge and proficiency to his current clients at DMHB.

Jim is a member of FGFOA, FICPA, and AICPA, and he currently holds the position as Treasurer for the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce.

The proud father of a 13-year old daughter at Lincoln Park Academy, and a 9-year old son at Fairlawn Elementary, Jim resides with his family in Port Saint Lucie. To unwind, Jim enjoys spending quality time with his family, as well as boating, bicycling, golf and fishing.
